Gen is a second-year Master of Public Health student in the Department of Health Systems and Population Health. Gen is a graduate research assistant with the REACH Center, focused on creating community engagement tools, and currently completing her capstone focusing on community-led climate resilience and social connection. Gen is passionate about community-based work in climate and health-related issues. In 2020, Gen graduated with dual bachelor's degrees in Environmental and Sustainability Studies and Spanish from Northern Arizona University. Before starting her MPH, Gen worked for four years in various environmental and sustainability fields, including ecological monitoring, wildland firefighting, and higher education sustainability. In her free time, Gen loves hiking and exploring Washington with her dog Jasper, cuddling her two cats Willy and Artemis, and trying as many new foods as possible!
