Katelin Teigen
Katelin Teigen is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Environmental & Occupational Health Sciences. Her research interests include better understanding indoor air exposures, disaster preparedness, and the mental health consequences of climate-sensitive hazards—particularly extreme heat and wildfire smoke—among vulnerable communities. She is deeply passionate about environmental justice and collaborating with local jurisdictions to inform effective, equitable interventions for issues at the nexus of climate and health. With CEER, Katelin supports the King County indoor air quality monitoring and intervention studies and the Spokane Community Assessment for Public Health Emergency Response (CASPER) survey on community perceptions of and preparedness for wildfire smoke. Outside of academia, Katelin enjoys hiking, biking, backpacking, climbing, skiing, paddle boarding, discovering new coffeeshops, and embarrassing herself at karaoke.
